Myself and a couple of friends who also happen to have children on the spectrum had a good laugh the other day. We were bonding while sharing our experiences with our children, especially when it comes to getting them to sit or lay still at the barbing saloon,or giving them shots or just getting them routine checks at the hospital.
The following day after our conversation, My daughter asked when her little brother was going to get his own braces fixed.
My husband and I busted out laughing just trying to imagine Khalil (our almost 8 year old son) in the dentist office 😅😅
It would be disastrous 🤦🏽♀️
The last dental appointment I took him was when he was around three years old. He sent all the dental equipments flying as they struggled to pin him down just to give him a check.
One thing about special needs children is their enormous amount of strength. As we recalled another incident some years ago when five adults couldn’t hold my son down in the hospital to clean up his wounds. It was not funny that day in fact the doctors and nurses both male and female experienced something like never before.
My husband concluded that they may have to sedate him 😂😂 As we continued to visualize what the experience will look like. He added that in fact when Khalil wakes up from sedation,he will pull out the braces one after the other until the dentist will sign out on our case 🤣🤣🤣
We had a really good laugh that day.
May Allah bless our special children. Ameen
Please note that some part of this story is totally made up as we have no plans to get him braces for now until he gets to the age when he understands the need for the braces and agreed on his terms hopefully 🤞
We will get there when the time comes ☺️
This post is entirely for humor!
Can you relate?
How do you handle dental and hospital visits or even hair barbing with your special one?
