Today is Africa Day, and Khalil's class was required to dress up in a Chad 🇹🇩 costume.
I did my research and found what worked perfectly.
I didn't have a white scarf, so I improvised! Wasn't even sure he'd agree to something different– in fact, the whole dress-up took some serious convincing (you can say bribery was involved 🤣🤣).
Anyway, we were met with an outstanding applause from his teachers as we arrived at school. All eyes were on him, hailing and cheering him! I noticed he was smiling too and I was so proud and happy. I didn't make any excuses just because he's different; I ensured he participated. Simple actions like this make a huge statement to people around our special children. When they see you, as the parent, going all out for your child, they know and understand that they have to give that child their best. 😇
Every child deserves to shine, and it's our job as parents to make sure they get that chance.
Alhamdulillah always!
